Global Experiences

TalkAbroad Global Experiences allows students to speak in English with a select group of our conversation partners for the purpose of cultural learning.  

Global Experiences conversations are 30-minutes long, and cost $15 each (see more pricing information here).

Conversation Partners

Global Experiences includes a network of 70+ conversation partners across 25+ countries like Argentina, Belgium, Benin, Bolivia, Brazil, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Germany, Haiti, Honduras, Italy, Ivory Coast, Japan, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Spain, Togo, Tunisia, Uruguay, and Venezuela. The partners available to each student are filtered based on the language selected for their section. Students will see partners who are native speakers of that language and who speak English as a second language. For Spanish sections, this means students will see native Spanish-speaking partners who also speak English.

You can enable this feature in your section settings and then create Global Experiences type assignments. See the teacher instruction manual here for more information about how to enable this in your sections. Students can see how to make a Global Experiences reservation here.

Everything else works just like TalkAbroad's normal conversations.
